God’s Direction and Prayer!
June and I count it a joy that you have stopped by this informational page about the Galatians 6:1 Ministry.
“For do I now persuade men, or God? or do I seek to please men? for if I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ.”
Let me share with you a burden! I want to be very transparent and forthright about the burden that consumes my thinking day after day. The burden isn’t a fly by night yearning but a call to the many Christians who have been left behind.
Here are the foundational verses that are the spiritual drivers associated with my burden: Please pick up your KJV and read these verses; Galatians 6:1, 1 John 1:9, Matthew 11:28-29, 1 Samuel 17:29, 2 Samuel 12:7, Esther 4:14, Ezekiel 33:6 and 37:9b.
So, the fields are white unto the harvest; how am I applying this truth? The field that contains our burden includes the many Christians that were once faithful to church but are now inactive. The reason for their inactive approach to church and worship isn’t important to me. So, what is the importance of my burden driven by a powerful mission? I so want these once active Christians to find an opportunity to serve again! No matter the past sin, error, broken relationship, church argument, hurt feelings, misunderstanding, or simply laziness…..Restoration, forgiveness, hope, love, and fellowship are available through Christ. I know God has precious saints waiting for a place to worship! The Holy Spirit is drawing and calling you home!
The process of starting a church, Christian school, college, or accepting a Pastorate, requires much wisdom and a careful approach.
We are praying that the Lord will raise up a core group of saints willing to meet, talk, and pray about the Galatians 6:1 Ministry. This faithful group will allow God to work and He will begin to strengthen and unify. We may have to meet in a home for a while or God may do a miracle of a building to rent or, better, maybe rent-free. Nothing is impossible with God. That being said, we want what the Lord wants! We are praying earnestly that He’ll make clear our place of service. Knowing that the local church is the method of service, this is the first choice for implementing and participating in full-time service.
Another concern and desire for service we have is a teen ministry. The teens in our churches deserve a consistent and dedicated spiritual experience. The book of Acts lays out the basics of church growth and power. Our teens need a fundamental foundation based on Biblical doctrine so they may lead and serve without compromise and with Holy Spirit power.
We have made ourselves available and looking forward to seeing God move in our lives through a local church to:
- start a church
- assist churches when without a Pastor
- serve faithfully in a local church
- start a school (college or day school)
- start a teen ministry
- serve as an assistant Pastor
- assist former church members who have been kicked to the spiritual curb
I so want to preach to hungry souls who want to pray, cry, learn, eat :), fellowship, visit, and witness together. I want to preach God’s Word and allow the Holy Spirit to do an everlasting work in our lives! Even more than that, God’s will be done!
Please pray for God’s leadership in the spiritual birth of a ministry as God so wills using the Galatians 6:1 Ministry.
God bless you
Don and June Porter
