High Thinking

Romans 12:3 “For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.”

There is a false sense of holiness among Christians. We have strayed from a thankfulness that our filthy rag laced righteousness is covered by the Blood.

Nausea is present when I think about the Pastor, Deacon, Teacher, or Evangelist who touts themselves as qualified. My question is , “based on what?”

Greater still, is the society of Christendom, that we take part in, has no inkling or even consistently attempts to practice true religion.

So, no need to continue my feeble thoughts when the Word of God can stand alone and put us in our place.

Consider the following from Ezekiel 20, then effect a change! God’s chosen people strayed, returned; strayed, returned; strayed, returned and God punished, withheld wrath; punished, withheld wrath; punished, withheld wrath. Take time to read the Old Testament and follow how God dealt with His people and how they responded. Now, compare yourself to the children of Israel. Yep, we are no better and even worse, for Grace has been revealed and yet we squander with guiltless abandon.

42 And ye shall know that I am the Lord, when I shall bring you into the land of Israel, into the country for the which I lifted up mine hand to give it to your fathers.

43 And there shall ye remember your ways, and all your doings, wherein ye have been defiled; and ye shall lothe yourselves in your own sight for all your evils that ye have committed.

44 And ye shall know that I am the Lord when I have wrought with you for my name’s sake, not according to your wicked ways, nor according to your corrupt doings, O ye house of Israel, saith the Lord God.
