Ordaining Authority

Ordaining Authority – The ordination council and what it represents in the local Baptist Church is a very familiar concept. However, the concept lacks good Biblical authority and substance. Ordination

1 Timothy 1:12 “And I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who hath enabled me, for that he counted me faithful, putting me into the ministry;” This verse removes the opinion of man and the unbiblical ordination council.

Galatians 6:1 longs to see spiritual barriers lowered so all Christians have an equal spiritual footing in the ministries of the church. The ordination council is another barrier driven by the church corporately, but not supported by God’s Word.

I ran across a common-sense and Biblical approach to this barrier. The book is “Special Services Manual” and John E. Owen. (0892112557) It’s not often I run across another watchman willing to speak the truth about our local church methods based upon a Presbytery and “inter-church” approach, instead of a local church authority approach. Allow the Lord to open your spiritual mind, and set aside what you think you know.

There are many Christians on the spiritual sidelines because local churches present an exclusionary approach because of Pastoral or church preference instead of the foundational truths of God’s Word. Enjoy the reading to follow!

Jeremiah 1:5 “Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.” Jeremiah was set apart and appointed by God, not man.
