Such As Keep

Such As Keep – Sometimes as Christians we overlook the obvious in God’s Word, as this allows us to protect what we “think we know.”

However, the phrase in Psalm 25:10 “unto such as keep” was raised up from the page by the Holy Spirit. The whole verse says this, “All the paths of the LORD [are] mercy and truth unto such as keep his covenant and his testimonies.

Here’s what the Holy Spirit taught me, and I hope it helps you! Our first reaction is “Wow” how am I going to keep God’s covenant and testimonies, so I can enjoy mercy and truth? If you are approaching the word “keep” as living an error-free life or walking this pilgrimage without displeasing the Lord, then, you are off to a skewed start. Not possible, as no one can keep God’s Word perfectly. You will fail and displease the Lord.

Unfortunately, many who hold an office in the church and attest to being qualified by the terms listed in Timothy and Titus have missed the mark. Again, no one can follow and maintain God’s covenant and testimonies without fault or error.

So, what’s the point? The point is this – We, as Christians, CAN keep His covenant and testimonies. How is that possible or have I contradicted myself in this post?

Consider the following points, and ask yourself if you are keeping His Covenant and Testimonies
  • Are you watching, guarding, as a husbandman would a vineyard
  • Guard against dangers, and preserve with an accusative approach toward all who may rail in opposition to God’s Word
  • Will you guard with fidelity and with an observing and obedient desire
  • Do you care for our Saviour in such a way that you would block attempts to harm or discount His Covenant

You see, it has nothing to do with sinlessness as some would have you believe in many churches. God wants you as you are today not as you once were! Oh, the great distance of east from the west (Psalm 103:12) and the great depths of the sea where our sins are cast (Micah 7:19). Let’s not forget God has His responsibility, and we have no right to tread into His territory, “sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.”

Spirituality, restoration, and meekness go hand in hand. If we tout ourselves as being spiritual, we better be ready to restore (that’s even better than before) with meekness considering ourselves.
