The Ekklesia

Assembly
The Ekklesia – Dear Church and Pastor, love the gift of the called-out assembly! Why are leaders laying burdens upon the spiritual flock?
God’s Word says my yoke is easy and my burden is light. Why would any spiritual leader want to do the opposite of what Christ Himself offers us?
I’ve heard many preachers say over the years to not mess with God’s man. How do we know the man behind the pulpit is “called?”
We don’t – it’s the respectable honor system. We take the man’s word for it, and then many times the Church pays the price.
The title of Pastor, alone, does not, by any stretch of the imagination, make him God’s man.
Graduating from a Baptist College, getting a “license” from a local Church, or enduring the unbiblical ordination council doesn’t make you a Pastor. The authority is in the Church and they will confer the honor, as such, they can repeal the honor.
Remember, that Jesus is the Head, Authority, and Owner of the Church, not the Pastor.
Once we, as Christians and Pastors, understand and practice this, our ekklesia (An interesting read about ekklesia here) will be what God wants to bless.
“Judging others makes us blind, whereas love is illuminating. By judging others we blind ourselves to our own evil and to the grace which others are just as entitled to as we are.” A lesson for many local churches. Bonhoeffer
1 Timothy 1:12 “And I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who hath enabled me, for that he counted me faithful, putting me into the ministry;” This verse removes the opinion of man and the unbiblical ordination council.
