Taking A Stand

Martin Luther: “Unless I am convinced by Scripture and plain reason – I do not accept the authority of the popes and councils, for they have contradicted each other – my conscience is captive to the Word of God. I cannot and I will not recant anything for to go against conscience is neither right nor safe. God help me. Amen.”

Great words from the Protestant Reformers

Sola Fide — Through Faith Alone

Sola Scriptura — According to Scripture Alone

Soli Deo Gloria — For the Glory of God Alone

Sola Gratia — Save by Grace Alone

Solus Christus — In Christ Alone

I will continue to seek the Pastorate or any other position in the church whether the brethren like or dislike the fact of my divorce! Luther’s quote above is so relevant today. When we stand before the Great Judge at the Judgment Seat of Christ, we stand alone!

The Independent Baptists during the past 17 years have missed an opportunity to follow God’s will in my life. They’ve had their opportunity. Therefore, as God leads, I offer myself as a candidate for the Pastorate outside the IFB church.

Exodus 18:23 “If thou shalt do this thing, and God command thee so, then thou shalt be able to endure, and all this people shall also go to their place in peace.”

1 Corinthians 16:13 “Watch ye, stand fast in the faith, quit you like men, be strong.”

2 Corinthians 1:24 “Not for that we have dominion over your faith, but are helpers of your joy: for by faith ye stand.”

Philippians 1:27 “Only let your conversation be as it becometh the gospel of Christ: that whether I come and see you, or else be absent, I may hear of your affairs, that ye stand fast in one spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel;”

Hebrews 10:23 “Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;)”

Amen and Amen
